Gecko Cottage Guest House is a four
star guest house, rated by the South African Tourism
Grading Council and situated in Prieska, offshore
the Orange river, Northern Cape, South Africa.
Prieska is about 230km west of Kimberley (the capital
of the Northern Cape) , and 240km south of Upington,
which makes it a must stop over when you are touring
the Northern Cape. It is also a half way stop over
between Namibia and Western and Eastern Cape in South
Africa.
This four star guest house is a beautiful restored
old house in the old Karoo cottage style and with
its old wooden floors, windows and modern decorated
interior, it is a home away from home you will never
forget.
The guest house has 4 suites, each decorated to perfection.
One of them with its own living area and kitchenette,
ideal for a family of three to four or for that special
honeymoon night. With its four rooms the guest house
can accommodate 9 guests – 2 double rooms with
queen size beds, 1 room with two single beds and the
suite with its queen size and single bed. All rooms
are air-conditioned and equipped with a bar fridge,
satellite TV, lovely bathrooms and stylish linen and
towels.
A full English breakfast is served every morning and
dinner is also available on request.

De Kalkfontein Guest Farm offers tourists/guests
absolute Karoo farm hospitality. It is situated 45
km from Prieska on the Marydale to Upington road.
The original farm house was built in 1895 and restored
in 2002. The house has 4 bedrooms, sleep 8, bathroom,
kitchen and lounge area. Self catering. Also a lovely
“Lapa” and “braai” area. Come
and experience the Karoo nights in the “veld”
around a fire, go for walks, drives or just to rest!
