Welcome to a place of unforgettable combination where the desolate barrenness of the Kalahari flows into the beautiful valley of the magestic Lower Orange River, graced with vineyards, cotton and lucern fields.

Cultivating grapes for raisins began in 1960 and table grapes in 1980. Today the grapes are exported worldwide.

Kakamas provides sufficient services for all your essential needs, up market guesthouses, beautiful scenery next to the mighty Orange River, fascinating coffee shops and heaps of entertainment in the wide outdoors. Be sure to make a pit stop at Yanuk coffee shop, the "Pienk padstal" and the Groen Kalahari wyn deli to top up on tasty local products. If need be Upington is situated only 80km away and can provide you with a wider range of services.
