Tata ma Tata was founded by Ed Smith in 2006. He was born and raised on a farm near Upington which makes him a true child of the Kalahari and therefore knows the region well. The tour company is based in Upington and operates from there.

The aim of the company is to take tourists on routes that will take their breath away, like the Kalahari Raptor Route, the Roaring Kalahari, Eco-Adventure Route, the Diamond Highway Route and the Komani San people lifestyle.

The untamed wilderness and long distances of the Kalahari can be quite overwhelming and true to the warm-hearted nature of it's people. Adventure opportunities abound in the area includes game-hunting, game-viewing as well as 4x4, hiking and biking trails. The most striking site is the vineyards that make the Kalahari Green.
