About African Vineyard Guest House
African Vineyard Guest House with 4 stars and an AA highly recommended rating is one of those unique accommodation establishments that offer a great deal more than just an overnight stay. As a working farm, it is part of the lush, fertile landscape of the Green Kalahari on Kanoneiland and is near Upington and Keimoes. As a registered Slow Food establishment, we proudly form part of Open Africa Kokerboom Food and Wine Route that runs along the Orange River in the Northern Cape, South Africa.
Situated on the largest inhabited inland island in South Africa, we are the ideally accommodation to experience the Green Kalahari and Northern Cape, the island of slow living – Kanoneiland and the legendary Augrabies Falls National Park. We are close to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and are on the N14 route to the Namaqualand for the annual flower show.
African Vineyard combines magical ingredients to create a unique and unforgettable farm stay experience. The ambience, slow food, fresh fruit and herbs, personalized service, country hospitality and luxury accommodation mix to revitalize your soul. Guests are welcome to explore our vineyards, stroll along the Orange River or just relax in the swimming pool. Our exquisite garden is home to various species of bird and the eco-friendly dam is an island paradise for bird watching.
Accommodation at African Vineyard ranges from standard rooms to luxury suites overlooking the beautiful garden. A good night’s sleep is one of our key ingredients so we offer spacious, elegantly decorated rooms with cotton percale linen and all the luxuries you expect. Our meals are home cooked according to the Slow Food requirements and can be enjoyed indoors or next to the swimming pool. We also cater for small conferences for up to 100 people.
